China spacecraft on far side of
the moon, credit to NASA
China successfully land its
spacecraft (Chang’e 4) on the far side or dark side of the moon
before Christmas, on December 8, 2018. Become the first country to
have this achievement.
Yes, Russia (former the
Soviet Union)
spacecraft, Luna 2
(Lunik 2) did the first landing on the moon on September 14, 1959.
Then, USA with Apollo 11 is the first country sent human being to the
moon on July 20, 1969.
The different that both the
Soviet Union and the USA arrived on the near side (face earth) of the
moon. Whereas China is the first ever country landing on the far side
of the moon. The
dark side is believed to have more craters than near side.
Can
we conclude that China is leading in space race? Off
course
not or may
be not
yet. China
still far behind compare to USA and even European countries in term
of visiting
planets such as Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn,
Uranus,
Neptune
and Venus, and other space objects (Asteroid Eros, Saturn's
Moon, Comet 9P/Tempel 1 and
Asteroid
Itokawa).
At
least, now, we have a new player in space race. Hope, will be benefit
to science and technology of
the space
development, then to human well being at
near future.
Space is so fascinating☺

Why did the US no longer send people to the Moon and no one else? The answer is a great mystery!

Space is open to adventure to those who would like to finance to advance the technology. So much to learn about space, it's an exciting adventure.

Hi Tanza,
ReplyDeleteI often wonder about space, as I have had a near death experience which was exactly the same as the experience that Paul the apostle had , as written in 2 Corinthians ch. 12 vs. 2-4:-
' know a person in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows. And I know that such a person—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows— was caught up into Paradise and heard things that are not to be told, that no mortal is permitted to repeat.'
My knowledge was increased there and every thing I had questioned about life, death and God was answered.
When I came back, as I was told it was not time for me to go, all that knowledge was taken away.
If you would like to read this post it is on the right side bar of my blog.
interesting story...

I found it very interesting that China had landed on the dark side of the moon last month, and now the U.S. is talking about possibly sending more humans to the moon. Me? I think our knowledge of space would be much more vast and helpful if the countries of the world worked together. The ISS was a great start, but now countries seem intent on pursuing independent paths.
